<description>Hi Brad! Thanks for the help. I believe the issue was a firewall at my office. They just changed a whack of rules, and I suspect that the closed the port Gears wants to download on. I was able to install it at home, and it appears to work properly -- even at the office.

Does the Gears installer run on an "odd" port?

<description>Hi Geoff, I couldn't find your email address so thought I would just post here. I saw your Twitter about having trouble installing Google Gears. I'm on the Gears team and would love to help you. What happened when you tried to install it? Did you go to http://gears.google.com? BTW, Firefox 3 + Gears isn't working yet; expect that in a few weeks. Feel free to ping me if you have any questions about Gears. What kinds of stuff do you hack on? I saw that you were at the Web 2.0 expo; I wasn't able to make it, but my colleague Dion Almaer was there talking on Gears.

Best,
