Ouch.

Well, at least when it's -40 here, it doesn't feel like -400. I love having almost no humidity in the winter. :)

Hi Geoff,
126.7 cm = 49 inches or so of snow in Calgary in an average year..... Syracuse receives an average of 296.96 cm = 116.9 inches in an average winter...... a couple of winters ago, we topped out at
over 220 inches of snow..... in that year we had 3 separate snowfalls of about 3 feet each.....when that happens, the plows still try to keep up but, if it snows quickly, even they give up....
oh, isn't it fun in snow country???? I am currently looking out the window at falling snow..... it has been doing that all day.... even though the weatherman said it would stop @ 1 PM. This current snowfall has brought us about 18 inches of snow..... the weatherman's "diagnostic weather brick" is obviously not working!!!
I think the weather people on TV/weather channel invent scenarios to justify their existance..... happy winter in Calgary to you all!!

Y'know, that's a darn good question. I know Calgary doesn't normally get a heap of snow (you folks on the south side of Lake Ontario/Lake Erie will get lake effect in droves compared to the leeward side of the Rockies), though the areas just inside the mountains would likely dwarf you (1 metre in a single snowfall).

Hmm... according to the internet (sic), the average is 126.7 cm per year. We'll see if that changes this year.

What's the average annual snowfall in Calgary? You may be colder but, I think we have you beat in snowfall!! I'll try to bring up a few photos of winter in Oswego, NY from last year or the Tug Hill plateau due east of Lake Ontario. Hi to Alex and [The Wee One] and Happy Holidays to you all.
