My personal favourite is the pictures they've created, complete with the worst-case scenario crime, graffiti, and garbage. Rather than look at cities like Vancouver, where raised lines don't actually cause that kind of trouble (at least to the extent that is painted in their campaigns).

Not so fast!

Sunalta residents are being absolute *assholes* about the proposed plan.

The funniest quote I heard was them saying "We don't want to *delay* the C-train extension... but we just want the city to (insert request for long, time-consuming study)"

Buncha jerks. I saw the plan that was approved back in November, and I thought it was awesome. Too bad it only takes a couple of people whining about "their view" to force the city to dustbin the entire thing...

I wonder when they're starting? I've seen not a lick of anything that would suggest progress since they announced the line.

I've waited 20 years for the C-Train to finally arrive close to my home in Siganture Park. The sooner the City starts this the better!

Hi,

I like your blog and I agree with you - the City of Calgary needs to invest the money and put the train underground. Especially downtown. I really think it is time they spent a bit of extra money to do it right. Unfortunately in Calgary, they have failed miserably most of the time with planning and they are 10 years behind on this plan. But, let's not look back.
They battle for increasing taxes with the very very Conservative. I have always said I don't mind paying a bit more in taxes - property taxes - if it is utilized properly. It could even mean getting rid of one car for the family if done right, and could save hours of time for commute which everyone knows equals money. (Ask Seattle who lost Boeing to CHICAGO!
A large reason why I like Toronto (I'm not from out East) is because even though the taxes are a bit higher, I really believe in the long run quality of life. They can literally avoid a car completely in many areas of Toronto. With gas creeping up again, and inflation, getting rid of a car may mean the difference in tough time in keeping your house or not!

Nice blog!
